Man arrests for fraud
The Balete Municipal Police Station (BMPS), together with the Altavas Municipal Police Station (AMPS) and the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company (APMFC), successfully apprehended a suspect involved in an estafa case through a hot pursuit operation around 1:00 pm at Brgy. Fulgencio, Balete, Aklan, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
The suspect is a 21-year-old male resident of Sitio Daeamo, Brgy. Arcangel, Balete, Aklan were identified as the individuals behind the alleged violation.
According to the complaint filed by Teomar Palmon, the owner of Tifftine Gasoline Station located at Brgy. Fulgencio, Balete, Aklan, the suspect, gassed up his motorcycle at their establishment around 12:16 p.m. on the same day, amounting to Php600, before leaving the station without making the payment.
‘SCAM’

‘Unraveling Fraud Scheme’
In response to the complaint, the officer-in-charge of Balete Municipal Police Station, Police Major Bryan Alamo, led a team in conducting a hot pursuit operation to apprehend the suspect. The operation yielded success as the suspect was intercepted during a dragnet set up by personnel from the Altavas Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Ryan S. Batadlan, along with personnel from the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company’s 4th Maneuver Platoon, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant. Colonel Donnel P. Regis
‘COLUROM’
During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect did not possess a valid driver’s license or registration documents for the motorcycle he was using. Subsequently, the suspect and the recovered Rusi TC-175 Macho motorcycle, believed to be involved in the incident, will be handed over to the Balete MPS for proper disposition and subsequent legal proceedings.
“The successful arrest of the suspect demonstrates the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts in maintaining peace and order in our community. We remain steadfast in ensuring the safety and security of our residents, and we thank the Altavas MPS and the 1st Aklan PMFC for their support and cooperation,” Police Major Bryan Alamo, Officer-In-Charge of BMPS, said in the issued statement, congratulating the joint efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved.
BMP expresses their commitment and extends their gratitude to the cooperative efforts of the AMP and the 1st APMFC, without whom this successful arrest would not have been possible.
